The Boston Globe
Co-op Program offers undergraduate students an entry-level opportunity to
become familiar with the operations of a daily newspaper.
To be eligible, applicants must be full-time undergraduate
students with a minimum of one full semester of classes remaining when the
co-op assignment ends. This means no one graduating before July 2013 will be
eligible. Students must be able to work 37.5 hours per week, and have a
minimum GPA of 3.0.
The current co-ops finish Dec. 28, and the upcoming co-op
rotation starts Jan. 1, ending June 28.
The application deadline is Oct. 15, 2012. More information
as well as an application form can be accessed at bostonglobe.com/coops.
Co-op students support the reporters and editors in the
different editorial departments, and there is some office work. Preference will
be given to students on a Journalism/Communication track or those taking
related courses. Designers must have prior design work or internship
experience.
