Summer internships for New Jersey residents

The New Jersey Press Foundation is accepting applications for its 2013 Summer Internship Program. The internship is open to freshmen, sophomores and juniors attending New Jersey colleges and to New Jersey residents attending other U.S. colleges. Internships will be at New Jersey daily and weekly newspapers. Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2012. If you wish to apply, contact Lisa Miller at lc.miller@unh.edu.

Telegraph seeks entertainment/arts editor

The Telegraph seeks an innovative and dynamic Entertainment/Arts Editor who will make The Telegraph the epicenter of entertainment and arts news in greater Nashua and beyond. This person will be expected to develop and implement an aggressive, digital-first approach to The Telegraph's entertainment news products. This will include, but not be limited to: developing multi-media and interactive content directed at a variety of audiences; partnering with arts and entertainment groups in the area to develop long-term relationships; creating and managing special Telegraph entertainment events; editing Encore, the Telegraph's weekly entertainment magazine; planning content for the Sunday Magazine section of the Sunday paper; and constructing and administering a comprehensive integrated social media strategy.

The Entertainment/Arts Editor will work closely with other newsroom editors on a daily basis to ensure tight integration with the Telegraph's overall news strategy, and to maximize efforts to promote arts and entertainment initiatives in print and online.
 
The successful candidate will have strong writing, editing and organizational skills and someone who can demonstrate to the ability to efficiently produce and manage a consistent flow of content for multiple news platforms. This person will also have a strong and proven knowledge of social networking tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Storify, Pinterest,  Mashable, Cover it Live, Tumblr, YouTube, etc. In additional skills include the ability to shoot and edit video, conduct online chats and organize and conduct community news events.
